SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
For the database-oriented applications, candidates' knowledge regarding the following programming skills will be evaluated:
- PHP, Ruby, Python, Perl and the web related development frameworks (Symphony, CakePHP, Django, Ruby on Rails, ...)
- Javascript and its development frameworks (JQuery, Dojo, ...)
- MariaDB, PostgreSQL, SQLlite, MongoDB, CouchDB
- Web-Service, REST, RPC and related technologies
For the scientific applications programming skills, good mathematical skills will be required, and candidates' knowledge will be evaluated specifically regarding:
- mathematical numerical methods
- mathematical programming languages (Matlab, Octave, Scilab, R)
- general purpose programming languages (Bash and related tools - awk,sed, ...-,Python,
Perl, C, C++, Java, Ruby, Go,... ) and related mathematical libraries (Boost, Gsl, ...)
- parallel and distributed programming (OpenMP, MPI..)
The candidate must also have an excellent knowledge of English, both written and spoken.

FIELDS: Data structure management and organization
SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES: Organization and management of data structures by importing them
from heterogeneous and semi-structured data sources, such as the web.
Within the context of data management, the candidate will need to be able to administrate
required tools such as, just to cite a few: MySQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, CouchDB.
The candidate must also be able to organize, export and analyze data by means of:

tools offered by each different platform;

ad-hoc developed programs built using scripting languages (for instance Perl, Python);

traditional object-oriented languages (for instance C++,Java, Go);

GiS software for geo-statistical analysis;

ACTIVITIES: Preparation, processing and creation of database for developing a business model under the project TeBe:
Feasibility project for development technology market applied to enhancing the cultural heritage.
REQUIREMENTS: All the below requirements are compulsory on penalty of exclusion.
The selection committee will assess admission requirements, during qualification evaluation, only upon documents provided by the candidate.
- Educational qualification
University Degree in relevant field (statistics, mathematics, physics, economics, finance), obtained according to the existing law 3 November 1999, n. 509, "Laurea Magistrale" or "Laurea Specialistica", is compulsory. Equivalent foreign degrees will also be considered.
- Language knowledge
The candidate must prove his/her perfect knowledge of Italian language and his/her excellent knowledge of English language.
- Skills
- Ability for quantitative analysis of large databases through econometric techniques;
- Ability to analyze the properties of empirical distributions through parametric and nonparametric methods;
- knowledge of Matlab, SQL and STATA may represent a plus.
Contract, duration and salary range
- Duration: 7 months (from June 1, 2010 to December 31, 2010)
- Contract: "Collaborazione Coordinata e Continuativa"
- Salary range: € 15.000 gross

SELECTION PROCEDURE: The Selection Committee is appointed by the Administrative Director.
