The Online Book Catalog is the key to finding books in the IMT Library.
You can enter a keyword in the simple search box at the top of the page, or you can use the
advanced search fields: author, title, subject, year of publication, language and type of publication
(monographs, serial, etc.).
Here is an example of a detailed record:
You can find all the copies held by the Library under "Esemplari Totali" and the copies available for
loan under "Esemplari Disponibili".
The IMT Library uses the Decimal Dewey Classification system. It organizes books by subject,
allowing you to browse the shelves for materials on a specific topic.
You can borrow a maximum of 5 books for a period of 1 month each. It is possible to renew the
loan period once for an additional month only if the book has not been reserved by another user.
Renewal can be done at the Desk or by e-mail.
Theses, dictionaries, journals and books marked with a red sticker may not be taken out of the
Library.
If you need to consult reference material, remember to sign it out in the daily reference register by
the desk and to place it back on the reshelving trolley on the ground floor at the end of each day.
If the IMT Library doesn't have the item you need, you can request it through document delivery or
interlibrary loan services. You can request books or journal articles by using the online form on the
"Ask a Librarian" page.
You can request a maximum of 3 items at a time and you will be informed by e-mail when the
material has arrived.
You can access e-journals from the Journal and Database Catalogue. Note that you cannot search
by article title or author in this catalogue, but only by journal title, publisher, ISSN and subject.
You can access databases from the page Databases Direct Access.
On this page you can find a brief description of the subscribed databases, information on access and user guides or
video tutorials where available.
For information on remote access to the electronic resources provided by the Library, please
contact the staff.
